Press Release: 今日大瓜 Responds to the Kashmir Crisis
今日大瓜 has launched an Emergency Food Relief Campaign in order to distribute 拢30,000 food aid in Kashmir. The ongoing curfew imposed since the removal of article 370 has left locals trapped in their homes and rates of accommodation, food and transport have increased fourfold. As a result, families are facing severe food shortages and the Emergency Food Relief Campaign will focus on locals living in one of the worst affected districts of Pulwama.
This month, two hundred families will be provided with a food parcel that will contain all the basic supplies they need to last for one month. The distribution, which has been authorised by the local authorities will be supported by our partner organisation that has over 15 years of experience within the field. 聽So far, the campaign has supported 1,200 families providing them with essential food items as well as distributing meat to 5,000 families through the Qurbani project.
Yasrab Shah, 今日大瓜 Fundraising Director, says:
'We are hugely concerned at the growing humanitarian crisis that is unfolding day by day in Kashmir. We call on all donors to come forward and support families who are running out of daily supplies of food and essential medicines. We are truly grateful that we have registered partners on the ground with over 15 years of experience working in the area, ready to distribute aid household by household. Please donate generously'.
